Our mission at Discovery Montessori Daycare is to provide an exceptional nursery school program through the medium of the Montessori method. The goal of the Montessori method is to promote and foster independence within children via the establishment of a “hands-on” approach. By embedding this education philosophy into our program, we set out to develop students’ self-motivation to grow in their critical thinking abilities, respectfulness, and overall development. Our History<\/h2>\n

Discovery Montessori Daycare was established in 2003 in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County, and has since relocated to Orange County.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the time I had just had my first son and was working as a teacher at a Montessori preschool. This inspired me to follow my dreams to both teach and cultivate independence and academic growth in children and to instill those same qualities in my own child. The plan was to do this by opening up my own Montessori-inspired daycare at home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now after over 20 years later and after having 2 more boys, I’ve fulfilled that same dream, by working as a childcare provider working from home and always trying to better myself in a career that gave me the opportunity to pursue what I love.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our son has been going to Discovery Montessori since he was 10 months old. He is almost 3 now. Mrs. Ella and her staff are excellent! Our son has mild autism, diagnosed when he was 2 years old, and they have been very helpful and patient in accommodating his needs. He has learned SO much with the daily circle time. He knows the entire alphabet, and knew it pretty early on. I also love that they teach basic Spanish. Our son can count to 100 in English and into the 20\u2019s in Spanish. He knows all his colors in English and Spanish. He knows all the months of the year. Most of all, I never have to worry about his happiness or safety when he\u2019s at daycare while I work, which was a huge fear of mine as a working mother. We feel like they treat our son like he is part of their own family and we are so grateful we found Discovery Montessori!!<\/span><\/p>\n

I would like to express my gratitude for what Discovery Montessori has done for my children, as I see their progress since they began attending daycare. My daughter, who started early education at Saddleback, has excelled even further in her academics while being under the care of Discovery after school and during breaks. We just learned that she tested into the CUSD GATE program. The care my older son received while at Discovery helped prepared him for kindergarten. I see improvement in his motor skills and ability to communicate and express his feelings. We also see improvement with my younger son who is currently getting prepared for TK under Discovery Montessori\u2019s care.
