Our Mission

Our mission at Discovery Montessori Daycare is to provide an exceptional nursery school program through the medium of the Montessori method. The goal of the Montessori method is to promote and foster independence within children via the establishment of a “hands-on” approach. By embedding this education philosophy into our program, we set out to develop students’ self-motivation to grow in their critical thinking abilities, respectfulness, and overall development. Discovery Montessori Daycare is also a dual-immersion program, as students are taught to interact in both English and Spanish.

The Vision of Discovery Montessori Daycare is to provide a stimulating early learning environment for children to thrive and achieve their full potential in conjunction with a quality educational curriculum that assists the social, emotional and intellectual maturation of all children. Our aim is for all children who enter to discover the capability of becoming fully autonomous through a strong foundation that will last a lifetime.

Our History

Discovery Montessori Daycare was established in 2003 in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County, and was relocated to Orange County a few years ago.

At the time I had just had my first son and was working as a teacher at a Montessori preschool. This inspired me to follow my dreams to both teach and cultivate independence and academic growth in children and to instill those same qualities in my own child. The plan was to do this by opening up my own Montessori-inspired daycare at home.

Almost 19 years later and after having 2 more boys, I’ve fulfilled that same dream, by working as a childcare provider working from home and always trying to better myself in a career that gave me the opportunity to pursue what I love.

Our Program

Our goal is to ensure children reach their developmental milestones in a nurturing and compassionate environment. We develop strong foundations in learning through Montessori-inspired activities, tailored to cater to the individual needs and pace of each child. Our programs range from infancy to five years, focusing on areas from sensory and motor development in younger children to social skills, language acquisition, and early mathematics for older children. This comprehensive approach ensures a seamless progression as children grow, fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning.

At our daycare, we offer a culturally diverse learning environment with bilingual programs in Spanish, enhancing cognitive abilities and cultural awareness among our young learners. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive atmosphere where every child feels valued and understood. As a dedicated childcare provider with over 19 years of experience, I’m devoted to providing children with the tools they need to thrive and succeed.

With my professional experience and certifications in First Aid, CPR, early childhood education, and Montessori instruction, I’m highly accomplished in teaching both educational and intentional play activities designed to develop children’s’ psychological, emotional, behavioral, and social skills.

Our son has been going to Discovery Montessori since he was 10 months old. He is almost 3 now. Mrs. Ella and her staff are excellent! Our son has mild autism, diagnosed when he was 2 years old, and they have been very helpful and patient in accommodating his needs. He has learned SO much with the daily circle time. He knows the entire alphabet, and knew it pretty early on. I also love that they teach basic Spanish. Our son can count to 100 in English and into the 20’s in Spanish. He knows all his colors in English and Spanish. He knows all the months of the year.
